Private, in-home dog training

The owner's manual
for a dog that actually listens.

FurryGuide is a private training service built around one idea: every dog's behavior has a cause, and every cause has a fix. We diagnose the issue, write a plan specific to your dog, and work it with you until it sticks.

Section 01 — Diagnosis

Most "bad dogs" are just untranslated dogs.

A — Reactive barking B — Resource guarding C — Jumping on guests D — Leash pulling E — Chewing / digging F — Poor recall

FIG. 1 — TYPICAL BEHAVIOR REPORT, MAPPED TO ROOT CAUSE. YOUR DOG'S DIAGRAM WILL LOOK DIFFERENT.

01

Reactive barking & lunging

Usually a fear or over-arousal response, not "aggression." We identify the trigger distance and rebuild the reaction from there.

02

Pulling on leash

Untrained loose-leash mechanics, reinforced daily by every walk. We replace the pattern before it becomes muscle memory.

03

Jumping, mouthing, door-bolting

Excitement with no outlet and no house rule. We give your dog a job to do instead.

04

Recall that falls apart outdoors

Command was taught in a low-distraction room and never proofed against real distraction. We proof it in the environments you actually use it.

CH. 01

Puppy Foundations

Crate routine, potty timing, bite inhibition, and the first layer of obedience before habits set in. Best started 8–20 weeks.

6 sessions
CH. 02

Core Obedience

Sit, place, stay, loose-leash walking, and recall — built to hold up around real distractions, not just in your kitchen.

6–8 sessions
CH. 03

Behavior Correction

Reactivity, resource guarding, separation distress, and other patterns that need a structured, gradual protocol.

Private In-Home Coaching

One trainer, your household, your dog, on your schedule. We work the environment where the behavior actually happens.

Section 03 — Assembly instructions

How a plan actually gets built.

01

Phone consult

A free call to hear what's going on and confirm we're a fit before anything is scheduled.

02

In-home assessment

We watch your dog in the actual environment where the behavior shows up — not a studio.

03

Written plan

A specific sequence of sessions and homework, scoped to your dog and your household routine.

04

Sessions & check-ins

We train, you practice, we adjust. Most owners see a shift in the first two to three sessions.

Section 04 — About your trainer

Who's actually holding the leash.

METHODPositive reinforcement, force-free
FOCUSObedience & behavior correction
FORMATPrivate sessions only, no group classes
SERVICE AREALocal & surrounding area

We don't run group classes and we don't sell a one-size plan. Every dog that comes through FurryGuide gets an assessment first, because a leash-reactive rescue and an overexcited eight-week-old puppy are not the same project.

Training happens where your dog actually lives — your hallway, your front door, your leash walk around the block — because that's where the behavior has to hold up, not in a training-center lobby.

If a case is outside what in-home coaching can safely address, we'll tell you that directly on the first call and point you toward the right kind of help instead of taking the booking anyway.

Section 05 — Field reports

Notes from recent households.

Case: Leash reactivityRev. 1

Our dog used to lose his mind at every dog across the street. Six weeks in, we can pass another dog on a walk without a scene. Still working on it, but the difference is real.

— Household, medium mixed breed
Case: Puppy foundationsRev. 1

What I liked was the actual written plan — I knew what we were working on each week instead of just showing up and hoping something stuck.

— Household, 4-month-old puppy
Case: Jumping / door mannersRev. 1

Sessions were at our house, which mattered — she jumps on guests, not on a training floor, so that's where it needed to get fixed.

— Household, young lab
